Share Student Progress with Parents — One Link, No Login
The number one question parents ask PE teachers: "How is my kid doing?"
Until now, answering that meant pulling up a spreadsheet, remembering a number, or writing a vague comment on a report card. Today, Running Kiddos makes it as easy as sharing a link.
How It Works
1Open any student's profile in the Running Kiddos web app
2Click "Share with Parent" — a unique link is generated and copied to your clipboard
3Send the link however you normally communicate with parents — email, text, ClassDojo, Remind, or paste it into a report card comment
That's it. The parent taps the link on their phone, and they see their child's PE progress — instantly, with no download, no login, no account.
What Parents See
Emma Smith
Grade 3 · Morning PE
Total Laps 35.5 mi
Distance 12
Runs
+ laps-per-run chart + full run history
The progress page shows:
- Total laps and distance — the big picture
- Runs attended — how often they're participating
- Average laps per run — consistency
- Laps-per-run chart — visual trend over time (are they improving?)
- Run history — every session with date, group, laps, and distance
What Parents Don't See
Privacy matters. The shared link shows only that one student's data. Parents cannot see:
- Other students' names, laps, or progress
- Class rankings or comparisons
- Teacher information
- School admin details
- Any editing or management features
Teacher Controls
Links are generated per student, not per class. You decide which students get shared links and when.
When to Use It
- Parent-teacher conferences — "Here's a link to Emma's PE progress. You can check it anytime."
- Report cards — paste the link in the comments section alongside the grade
- Weekly updates — send home a link at the end of each week with a note: "Your child ran 18 laps this week!"
- When parents ask — instead of looking up data and typing a response, just share the link
- Celebrations — "Your child hit 100 total laps! Here's their progress page."
The Viral Effect
When parents see their child's progress page, they see real data. Numbers. A chart going up. That's something worth sharing.
"My kid ran 50 miles this semester in PE!" — that's a Facebook post. A text to grandma. A screenshot in the family group chat. Every share is free marketing for your PE program, and for Running Kiddos.
The progress page includes a small "Powered by Running Kiddos" footer. Other teachers see it, ask about it, try it.
No Extra Cost
Parent progress sharing is included in every Running Kiddos plan — Base and Base + AI. No add-on, no per-student fee. You're already tracking the data; sharing it is free.
